For me Debian based is essential. Also the Mate desktop is essential.
My picks, Ubuntu Mate, Mint Mate, Sparky semi-rolling Mate, Parrot Mate, Debian Mate and Spiral Mate in that order.

I’m not familiar with Bodhi. I like Anti-X for both Old Computers and for RAM-only (over Puppy).

About Pop!_OS!, I only know that it doesn’t even have a menu button that lists all its apps by category. The OS is not suppose to be getting in the way of user operations and this one does. It’s clunky and dumb.

It’s what we call “highly and aggressively opinionated” in the worst way.
