Hello Chief, thank you for bringing up but this guide mainly talks about USB-C charging cables. Although in the case of at least one example, OnePlus SuperVOOC, you will also need to separately purchase a charger to get full benefits of different charging speeds: Warp, Dash, PD etc. I currently own this device and I know how blazing fast it is. 26 minutes is all it takes me. That’s the only place where a “charger” needed to be mentioned.

Can you please share more details of your USB-4, 40 Gbps cable and its price? An e-commerce link or company web page would be helpful.

It was beyond the scope of this guide to elaborate the inclusion/exclusion criteria in full, not because we didn’t want to buy because most readers don’t care. They need the absolutely best recommendations for each category. But if you’re really interested, do wait for a future update.

None of these recommendations are set in stone. We’ll always hold this space untill a better name comes along.

Now coming back to your USB-4 cable. Which brand is it? How long have you been using it? That’s our genuine curiosity.

Regards

So why call them chargers? If a cable meets the PD standard, why doesn’t Apple certify them if Apples standard is PD?. What is the actual difference in the cables that makes them “this phone compatible or that phone compatible”? I have purchased a lot of USB cables and I have never had an incompatibility problem. My latest are USB4 cables and the will do up to 40Gbps, have a braided cover and both connectors are USB-C. They support up to PD240-W power, 8K video, and BACKWARDS compatible with Thunderbolt 3/4. So what is the difference in them and the ones you reviewed?
